What is Screen Printing?  Screen printing otherwise known as Silkscreen is when a design, logo, or message is permanently printed on apparel, bags banners, signs, etc.

The design is broken down by color.  For every color, one screen or stencil is burned into a film that is used for printing. Screens are then lined up and printed on test sheets to ensure that all of the colors line up correctly. Inks are then pushed through the screens one color at a time onto the apparel. Finally, each piece is run through a large dryer to settle the inks into the fabric.

The more colors you have in your design more screens and more ink are required.  If you have a lot of colors to print, sublimation may be a better option for you.  However, sublimation really only does well on 100% polyester, light fabrics.
